Brimfield Antiques

This past Sunday we went to the Brimfield Antiques Show. It was a very warm day and extremely overwhelming. According to my research there are over 6,000 dealers on 23 different fields. We went on the last day and I think many of the sellers had already left. We saw a couple fields full of tables-completely empty and abandon. I usually love flea markets; but this time it was just exhausting. I felt like I spent countless hours stumbling around the rocky paths seeing the same overpriced, underwhelming antiques. I was very excited about the carnival food though, and I snatched up a few political buttons for my collection.
I only managed to snap a few photos to share with you. There was just too much to capture.

A gorgeous Tiffany style lamp. This thing was pretty huge. I could have used it as a beach umbrella.
This dealer had a scary amount of colorful toys.

Some of the booths were gorgeously laid out and designed. The style of these sofas with the painted canvas seems to have become very popular. I've seen it alot on Heather Bullard's blog.

There were some bizarre things too. Believe it or not this guy had a giant SOLD sign on it. Who goes to an antiques market looking for a giant pink dino?

I found Brimfield to be totally overwhelming and not really exciting at the same time. I'd recommend driving along the main drag of the market-just to see how humongous it is.

xoxo,
Lo
